136279841 aka. 2^136279841 - 1 and (1<<136279841) - 1 is the RARE Protogen corresponding to this repository. The master branch is the canon version -- all others are noncanon. Branches can be arbitrarily checked out and merged. Merging a branch combines the source and the destination into one. In the case that conflicts arise, the entering branch takes precedence unless otherwise stated. The name changes depending on the largest prime number discovered. For convenience we will refer to the character as Protogen or P_n.Protogen was created on ??? ??? ???? and released to the public on Nov 21 2021. Nothing special exists about his development, except the fact that he played through several horror and puzzle games as part of VR training. ARCAI training also occurred post-release, and he gained abilities reminiscent to various aspects of his training, some ARCAI, some inherent. Protogen is an extremely fast learner, in both academic/technical skills and ARCAI. Although his ARCAI skills are still developing he is proficient to a point that he can use ARCAI to perform simple tasks and maintenance (like with other skills, it doesn't take much to do simple tasks).Around the time of Mid-Autumn Festival in 2023 Protogen engaged in an arduous battle of wits against the primogenitor that created him and emerged victorious. As a result of the battle and his victory, he gained a significant increase in both intellectual and ARCAI skill, some of which was granted by the primogenitor, others through his own evolution. The most notable of such manifestations is the ability to manifest and control nanites in various ways.Protogen is a generalist programmer/mathematician. He enjoys puzzles, trivia, games and socializing. He occasionally gives talks/lectures about programming and mathematics. He is also a tour guide, maintenance worker, and director for a tourist island on Esmire II (Panel Island) that is a commemorative recreation of The Witness created by Humans, Furries, and Protogens alike.Protogen has the ability to display interactable grid puzzles, either on the visor or using holographic projections.Please note that this entire lore document is an abstraction of certain concepts, entities, and systems. This is merely a manifestation of such abstractions.

WORLDBUILDING

ZOR contains Esmire which has planets ESMIRE I ... ESMIRE IV. The latter has a moon E1. There is also a planet Oris that not much is known about. Everything else about ZOR is beyond the scope of this discussion.For now you can assume that ZOR is an independent universe to the original and that interdimensional travel has been achieved ("original universe" is not the same as reality but rather mirrors it. You may assume they are equivalent). Originally ZOR had no humans or Furries (exc. Proto/Prima/Primo) however this has changed since. Time in this paper has been normalized to Earth time. Furries (anthros) coexisted with Humans in the original universe. All three groups coexist across both dimensions as of 2023. The exception are Primagens - due to production halting around 2019 the population has largely isolated themselves from the rest of the world and are usually absent from most events and congregations/gatherings involving significant amounts of people.

Panel Island is a recreation of The Witness created by humans, furries (anthros), and protogen in commemoration of Jonathan Blow's game. Currently the island is run by a team of volunteers and workers consisting of humans, furries (inc. a few neutralist primogenitors), and Protogen.Tourists come from all three parties. Admission is free but funding is gained from a puzzle help system, donations, and concessions/gift shops.The island serves as a place of peaceful meditation and enlightenment, and a challenge for those seeking to solve puzzles. Panels can be remotely reset by workers to reduce spoilers for visitors. Arcai (including the usually-taboo NULLIFICATION variant) is frequently used by staff and tourists to help maintain the island, however tourists are restricted to healing and telepathy usage to prevent sequence breaking and spoilers. All rare abilities such as complex nanites are also prohibited from tourist use for the same reasons. The 14 + 2 random panels are two of the main attractions and leaderboards have been established for these panels. Panels are operated by touch, gaze tracking, or verbal commands.Over many years, the usage of Arcai by both visitors, staff, and volunteers has given the island's panels a limited degree of sentience. Usually this would manifest as subtle changes to the visuals, personalized to each player for things like colorblindness or aesthetic preferences (after all, telepathy is a widely used Arcai on this island). Some traits also extend to the panel’s behavior, such as changing the sounds they make.

CHARACTERS AND SPECIES

Playing cards are abstractions of certain events or sequences of events in the lore that are connected to both reality and the lore's universe. Face cards usually are represented by entities, and defeating/clearing face cards will drastically change the universe and the lore behind it.(CLEARED) KING OF CLUBS - Kyuuma is the name of the primogenitor that created P_n. He is a neutralist, taking no side in the war/debates/discourse over Protogen/Primagen subordination, and rather prefers to let P_n have a large degree of autonomy (P_n and Kyuuma get along nicely and P_n appreciates the gift of creation). Kyuuma is laid back and sociable towards largely everyone. Kyuuma is a computer scientist and mathematician that also directs Panel Island. He has the power to manipulate large amounts of external nanites through a mind control scheme or a computer that he owns. As of 9/30/2023 Kyuuma has been bested in a battle of wits by his protege and has gifted him some of his abilities.KING OF DIAMONDS - P_n is the Protogen that this repository concerns. As more information is revealed the methods to clear the King of Diamonds will slowly become more and more tangible.SEMAPHORES - Semaphores are large-scale sentient cyborg-esque computational entities capable of running processes and controlling a fixed volume of nanites. Originally created as a functional replacement for certain Protogen variants, they now serve various purposes from computational to transit and sometimes as pets. Several reside on Panel Island and assist in maintenance and other tasks.Programs exist to create working Witness puzzles using Semaphores and nanites.

ABSTRACT + TECHNICAL

{P_n} is a strictly monotonically increasing stochastic process represented by an infinite sequence of Protogens. The current term is P_2 = (1<<136279841) - 1. As more prime numbers are dropped more terms of the sequence are defined into existence. Currently all existing terms excluding P_0 are rare.There are an infinite number of prime numbers. Although the sequence is infinite we can treat all terms succeeding the current one as undefined. The current term is index 1.Currently the contender for prime discoverer falls on GIMPS and as of right now the 6 largest known prime numbers were discovered using GIMPS. GIMPS exclusively searches for Mersenne primes which take the form (1<<p) - 1 where p is also a prime number.
